Hal Zarem

Hal Zarem, PhD is the CEO of Holo. A career technology executive, he has led companies in the automotive, cleantech, semiconductor, optical component, MEMS and, most recently, additive manufacturing industries. From 2012 to 2016, Dr. Zarem was President and CEO of Seeo, a developer of advanced lithium polymer batteries which was purchased by Robert Bosch in 2015. From 2003 to 2010, he was President and CEO of Silicon Light Machines, an optical device company. Silicon Light Machines was purchased by Dainippon Screen in 2008. Dr. Zarem has also held executive positions at Cypress Semiconductor, JDS Uniphase, mCube and Ortel Corporation. He earned a BA in physics from the University of California Berkeley, and MS and PhD degrees in applied physics from the California Institute of Technology. He holds eight patents and has published 34 technical papers. He is an avid sailor, outdoorsman and runner, having completed 8 marathons.
